Carlson Hills Dog Kennel is a family-run business that loves dogs!! Let us exercise your dog while you are at work, on vacation or playing a round of golf, giving them the activity, mental stimulation, care and socialization they deserve. Our medium and large dogs are outside the majority of the day, depending on the weather and their individual needs. Our small dogs spend lots of time outside, too, but they also get the pleasure of hanging out more with us inside, and we often give them free range while we clean or complete office tasks. Our daycare groups are always kept small and customized to suit our guests' needs.

  • Supervised group play: Ensures safe interaction with peers while learning social boundaries.

  • Behaviour monitoring: Staff observe interactions to correct undesirable behaviours and reinforce positive ones.

  • Gradual integration: New dogs are introduced progressively to minimize stress.

  • Skill reinforcement: Commands and routines are practiced during play to maintain consistency in training.

Our team strives to provide an environment where dogs learn appropriate social skills while remaining safe and comfortable.

Benefits of Daycare for Dogs

Professional dog daycare offers measurable benefits:

  • Physical activity: Regular exercise supports healthy weight, muscle tone, and cardiovascular health.

  • Mental stimulation: Activities and structured routines challenge dogs cognitively.

  • Reduced anxiety: Social engagement and predictable schedules decrease separation-related stress.

  • Routine reinforcement: Commands, leash behaviour, and calm interactions are reinforced throughout the day.

Owners gain confidence knowing their dogs are cared for in a structured and safe environment.

Signs That a Dog Is Comfortable with a Dog Daycare

Knowing if a dog is going to daycare is comfortable and happy becomes extremely important to ensure good overall health. Some of the signs that suggest a dog is comfortable at a daycare are:-

Excitement upon arrival

If you notice that the dog is visibly excited and happy when you arrive at the daycare, it is a strong sign that they are comfortable being there. Wagging tails, barking happily, or pulling towards the entrance are some of the common signs.

Calm body language

A dog that feels comfortable will have a relaxed body language like soft eyes, a wiggly body and other signs. They won’t show signs of loneliness or anxiety.

Positive social interaction

If a dog interacts with others and engages in playing with other dogs or people, it indicates that they are having a comfortable experience. Moreover, they don’t shy away from interactions, which means they enjoy their time.

Calm behaviour during drop-off

If your dog calmly and willingly goes with the daycare staff or walks into the facility without hesitation, it suggests they’re comfortable with the environment and the people there.

Regular eating and sleeping habits

Dogs are comfortable if they have regular sleeping and eating routines and habits. Not eating properly or getting insufficient sleep indicates being exhausted or anxious.
